Packing.
Let's face it you can never pack the perfect amount of clothes. It's either not enough and you regret not bringing certain clothing, or you over pack and come back with some clothes you never took out of your bag.
When did packing become so difficult.
I recall receiving a list that went something like this at primary school:
Sleep bag
Pillow
Sleepwear
Underwear x 5
Shorts x 3
T shirts x 3
Warm jumper and pants
Toothbrush and paste
Towel. The end.
Life was so simple back then. This adulting business is so difficult. Just packing my toilet bag is a hassle...
Body wash, purple shampoo, normal shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, face wash, exfoliating face wash, shaver, face toner, face moisturiser, body moisturiser, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, mouth wash, bobby pins, hair brush... The list goes on. This isn't including the make up bag.
Everyone knows that I have a thing for shoes. So I am very proud that I have only packed 4 pairs plus the ones i will be wearing. (Gives me an excuse to buy more while I am there)
I guess the hard thing about packing for this trip is the different temperatures. South Africa was sitting at a comfortable 28degrees today where as Dubai is at 43 and we are leaving Auckland from a miserable wet 14. Not know what we are going to come across has caused me to pack 7 pairs of different shorts from jean shorts to flowing floral shorts, and 2 pairs of exercise tights.
The worrying part of this over packing (I admit I will probably not wear half the above mentioned shorts) is the weight limit your allowed with your baggage - 30kgs
Picking up my bag and it is feeling rather heavy. Clever parents suggest I pop it on the scales, at this point I am mentally figuring out what I can get rid of (probably some shoes). The bag is weighed.... 17kgs!
This means I can purchase plenty of shoes :)
